RIP Roger Greenslade
Posted by Eversholt Cricket Club on 19 March 2014
It is with great sadness that I share with you news received by the Club that Roger Greenslade has recently passed away having succumbed to Lung Cancer.
Many of you will remember Roger as undoubtedly one of the most colourful characters to pass through our midst.
He first played for us on 3 August 1991 having been recruited from Jesters CC the previous week as cover for my Wedding Day!! Of course, he played, attended the Wedding Reception, stayed the night and joined us for breakfast the following morning thus setting the tone for the fun packed years ahead including his role as 12th Man in the National Village Cup run culminating with an appearance at Lord's in 2000.
I'm sure you would wish to join me in extending condolences to all of Roger's family and friends at this time.
Roger ended his playing career at Crouch End CC and they will be hosting a celebration of his life on the afternoon of Saturday 12th April. We are awaiting final details but a number of Club Members have already expressed an interest in joining me in attendance. I will share more information once received but please let me know in the meantime if you are interested in attending. My contact details can be found below.
