Fun Day for Chloe - Sunday, 2nd August
at Eversholt Village Hall
Life offers strange and wonderful events; some of these make the happiest memories we can hold, some so precious we don’t ever let go, some so sad we try so hard to forget but the pain never leaves to let us.
When Ania and Craig told me about their friend and his family my heart was so overwhelmed I didn’t know which emotion to show, I knew as soon as Ania and Craig suggested a fundraiser event I would be committed to helping in whichever way I could. The initial thought was a bike ride, London to Brighton, but this would not raise enough awareness and no one would enjoy themselves! So, we started thinking bigger, being together and most importantly FUN. The power of the community pulling together for one common focus is overwhelming, it is a family.
Chloe is a very special little girl, her beauty shines through in every look, smile, giggle and touch. At 23 months old Chloe shows a courage and strength which is admirable. Five months ago Chloe was diagnosed with brain and spinal cord cancer, she has gone through two major operations at Great Ormond Street Hospital and she is undergoing her second type of chemotherapy to try and defeat the cancer. Chloe has a 5% chance of survival.
Chloe is fighting a battle every day, she is a fierce fighter. She knows she is poorly but she doesn’t understand fully the seriousness of her illness which makes this Fun Day even more poignant, Chloe lives her life with as much laughter and normality as she can, she has FUN. Chloe has amazing parents, an older brother of 7 who she adores and a younger Brother of 1 that due to the unfortunate circumstances cannot always be at home and stays with her Grandparents.
So, we would like to organise a FUN DAY for Chloe, the monies raised will go to Chloe’s family so they can create some amazing family memories, to allow Chloe’s father to take some time off work to spend time with his family. We will use Eversholt Village Hall on Sunday, 2nd August, to complete the week of fun in the village! Our plan so far is to have a 12 hour around the clock fun day, bring your own picnic blankets and choice of beverage, kick back and enjoy!
Starting with breakfast and being filled with hourly events like, Tug ‘O’ War, Welly Wanging, Wet sponge Stocks, Sack Races this list is endless! Plus we will have all day events, fancy dress competition, The Great Eversholt Bake Off, bouncy castle, face painting, Hog Roast and live music! We really hope that we can get your support!
We do not know how long Chloe’s life will be, but we do know that she will leave us with some of the most happiest memories, some so precious we will never let go and some so sad we won’t be able to forget.
Chloe; Chooses Happiness, Laughter & Overwhelming Enjoyment. X
