RIP Phil Hughes

Posted by Eversholt Cricket Club on 28 November 2014

It's incredibly hard to put into words just how devastating the news of Phil Hughes' passing is; attempting to do so will only be an injustice to a young cricketer, in the prime of his career, taken away whilst doing something he loved and gave everything for. His loss will be felt by many, for many years to come - not because we knew him personally; we didn't, but because he was one of us, a member of the Cricket Family.

Somewhere behind the cricketer Phil became, the hours of practice he put in, the teammates who pushed him, there was a little boy who fell in love with the game and never looked back. He was devoted to cricket until the very end, and will inspire many for years to come.

We do hope you can take a moment to listen to Roy Harper's song below and reflect on Phil's life.

On behalf of Eversholt Cricket Club, we pass our sincere condolences to Phil Hughes' family and friends.
