RIP Mick Anstee

Posted by Eversholt Cricket Club on 29 July 2014

To all Members and Supporters;

I have received the sad news that Mick Anstee passed away on 21st July, 2014. Some of my earliest childhood memories in association with the Club recall watching Mick as an opening bowler of some repute during the 1970s as the Club emerged from the local Village Cricket circuit to become a force in the first days of competitive league competitions and as founder entrants in the National Village Cup.

Having been forced to stop playing cricket due to persistent knee injuries, Mick took to the Golf Course but continued to support the Club as a Life Member and participant in the "100 Club" also visiting us in person whenever possible. He would always ask me for an update on all aspects of the Club whenever he saw me.

I am sure you wish to join me in extending our condolences to Mick's family and friends at this sad time.

Mick's Funeral will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Eversholt at 1:00pm on Tuesday, 12th August, 2014. Everyone who knew Mick is invited to attend the Funeral and to join Mick's family afterwards at Eversholt Village Hall.

Best regards,

Dave Garratt
Chairman, Eversholt Cricket Club
