| Match Report | Eversholt lost the toss, with Ickwell 2s choosing to bat first on a cold Sunday with clouds overhead. Eversholt bowled well on a bowler friendly track, bowling Ickwell out for just 96! The pick of the bowlers were Mark Ling taking 4-15 and Justin Pardy taking 3-24 on debut. Adam Baddeley top scored for Ickwell with 21. After an early tea Eversholt came out to bat with captain Alan Garratt opening with Mick Sibley. Alan was beaten by a ball cutting back in to take the top of off stump - a cracking ball from Sam Oakins. Mick Sibley battled hard for 31 before getting stumped. Adam Sibley took the attack to Ickwell, scoring a quick 22 which almost saw Eversholt across the line, whilst Mark Ling's 18* made sure of the win for Eversholt as the hosts finished 97-3. Ewan Wilkinson the pick of the Ickwell bowlers with his 2-15. Man of the Match goes to Mark Link for his all round performance, 4-15 with the ball and 18* with the bat. |
