Match Report | Eversholt winning the toss elected to bowl first on a showery May afternoon with rain in the forecast. Eversholt looked for early wickets with Justin Pardy removing opener Stephen Brookes for just 5. Clifton had a strong batting line up, and despite taking a few early wickets Jacob Barnes 46 and Ricky Monaghan 53 were able to get Clifton to 219 with Eversholt bowling too short on a good track and quick outfield. T Sibley 4/34 and A Henchy 2/42 the pick of the bowlers for Eversholt. With a big target set by Clifton the pressure was on with opener Roger Lewis first out for 12 caught behind. Clifton bowling a good line and length made it hard to score pressure building eversholt find themselves 3 down for 30. Michael Sibley once again helping to build the fight back but with Clifton's tight bowling and the target set it became clear it was going to be out of our reach. Adam Henchy ending on 48 and Michael Sibley 40, Eversholt got to 166 from their 40 overs. |
